Guest Speaker: Andrew B. Jones, CISSP, C|EH, CERP
Topic: Application Container Security
Synopsis: As platform-as-a-service (PaaS) grows in popularity and complexity, it is implicit that cybersecurity professionals understand how this technology contributes to computing environments and acquire the ability to protect cloud data. Application container technology is the foundation of DevSecOps and requires a non-traditional approach to cybersecurity.
2nd Guest Speaker
Topic: CMMC: An Overview of Certification Levels and Protocols
Synopsis: In January of 2020 the DoD is mandating a Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) to replace the NIST 800 171. The CMMC is a very extensive certification with five different level and five different protocols. Our course will explain the details of the CMMC and expectations. We will discuss the five different level, the cybersecurity protocol at each level and give examples of types of companies that fall into each level. By the time we complete this class, an attendee will know what to expect from the CMMC, what level their firm will fall into, what is the current protocol at their level and how to prepare for it. This is a very important class because contractors without a CMMC certification will be unable to get awarded DoD Contracts. The class will be given by Steve Beaty who is the COO of DevilDog Cybersecurity.
Advanced Registration is FREE until 14 November. Thereafter, a $10 registration fee will be imposed and will be applicable to late registrants and walk-ins.
This is a great training opportunity for those wanting to broaden their knowledge or need CPE/CEUs to maintain their existing certifications. It’s also a great opportunity to share your knowledge and experience with other members of our Chapter, and gain experience as a speaker by volunteering to be one of our presenters.
